The child care issues is significant in the United States and South Dakota. This study sought to characterize child care in South Dakota from the perceptions of registered and licensed child care providers in South Dakota. Factors that were described included affordability to parents, quality of child care programs and compensation of child care providers. Information was also gathered concerning standards and legislative issues that child care providers would support.
