This case study research examined the process of secondary school students creating and sharing site-specific artworks online as part of their environmental art production assignment. Student participant perceptions of the production of their place-based sculptures, as well as their palimpsest artworks, are examined within the context of interactive posting of images and commentary within a social media platform. Participants’ responses point to several critical factors in the organization and active operation of visual art assignments in which students engaged via a digital sharing site (e.g., students’ online posting needs resemble their offline communication needs). There is a surprising dearth of research related to the phenomenon of self-injurious behavior/nonsuicidal self-injury (SIB/NSSI), such as cutting. Research conducted on SIB has revealed that this maladaptive behavior is more common among adolescents than other populations. The act of posting SIB on social media deserves research attention, as it seems to contradict what had previously been considered a very private behavior. Literature suggests school administrator shortages worldwide. A number of factors are blamed for this trend, one of which is overall job dissatisfaction. This case study examines the effects of social media on the overall job satisfaction of five school administrators in small town America. Through semi-structured interviews, this research indicates that school administrators in the study avoid reading the comments section of online news media forums. This study attempted to ascertain the prevalence value of rape myths located within social media user comments on the website Facebook. Research using existing Internet-based comments may provide insight into current attitudes and beliefs surrounding sexual violence. Using a quantitative content analysis, this study gauged the prevalence of rape myths in user comments by referencing a preset code list created with rape myths from the Acceptance of Modern Myths About Sexual Aggression scale (AMMSA) and the Updated Illinois Rape Myth Acceptance Scale (IRMA) and by locating emergent codes in the dataset.

Some research has assumed that online students experience a feeling of isolation, disconnect with their institution, and overall, have a diminished educational experience.
