Computer Science is often ranked with Nuclear Physics or Biochemical Engineering; people understand it is an academic discipline, but have no desire to study or learn anything about it. There is much literature being written today pertaining to the field of education. I feel that by reading this literature a perspective teacher can gain great insight into the profession of teaching. The problem today is that few people have enough time to read. Much of the valuable literature goes to waste sitting on a shelf.
