This project is a proposed syllabus of a college level history course dealing with queer and trans experiences in the 20th century. The course utilizes the Ursinus inquiry based approach to learning, focusing on the core questions “How can we understand the world?” and “How should we live together?” Supplementary materials, such as the course proposal, are meant to encourage the Ursinus College History Department to offer the course in the future.

Modelling Graduate Skill Transfer From University To The Workplace, Denise Jackson

This study explores skill transfer in graduates as they transition from university to the workplace. Graduate employability continues to dominate higher education agendas yet the transfer of acquired skills is often assumed. The study is prompted by documented concern with graduate performance in certain employability skills, and prevalent skill gaps across developed economies. Using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modelling (SEM), it models skill transfer in 674 business graduates from 39 different Australian universities. This pilot study examined student learning outcomes and potential instructional cost savings in an undergraduate Principles of Marketing course that combined online delivery of content, flipped classroom and experiential application for on-campus classes, referred to as a networked curriculum. This model separated the traditional 3-credit course into a common online content section and a smaller application section. Student learning and engagement outcomes in the networked curriculum were compared with a traditional lecture format, and no significant differences were found. Potential savings in classroom space utilization and faculty compensation encourage further research of this model.

Agricultural Communications: A National Portrait Of Undergraduate Courses, Karen J. Cannon, Annie R. Specht, Emily B. Buck

Considerable research has been conducted regarding competencies needed by agricultural communication program graduates during the past four decades. However, no studies have considered actual program offerings. This study used a qualitative approach to analyze courses offered in agricultural communication programs in the United States. Using content analysis methods, researchers analyzed published course descriptions and discovered 21 categories among 172 courses. Most popular were writing courses, followed by courses introducing students to the major, internship courses, and writing for publication and graphic design courses. Categories with the fewest offerings included research, study abroad, and international focused courses. Findings from this analysis …
