The study aimed at identifying the level of leadership abilities of academic department chairpersons at the Jordanian universities and its relationship with the level of professional development of the faculty members. To achieve the objectives of this study, a questionnaire was developed where its validity and reliability were assured. The study sample consisted of (461) faculty members from Jordanian universities. The study used the descriptive survey method in data collection. The results revealed that the level of leadership abilities of academic department chairpersons was medium, and the level of professional development of the faculty members was medium as well. The …
