This research aims to (1) evaluate the application of the teaching factory (Tefa) in the field of machining expertise in Vocational High Schools (VHSs) and (2) identify the obstacles to the implementation of Tefa. The research uses the CIPP (Content, Input, Process, and Product) evaluation method. This research was carried out in four vocational schools on the competence of machining expertise with the criteria of having implemented Tefa for more than five years and as a pioneer in implementing Tefa. A future forecast for 2030-2040 predicts that Indonesia will face a demographic bonus, in which the productive aging population is greater than the unproductive age population. This research aims to determine how the teaching factory at SMK SMTI Yogyakarta handled during Covid-19 pandemic. A descriptive qualitative case study approach was used as the method. Semi-structured interview techniques, observation, and documentation were used to collect data. The interviewed data was collected from 3 informants. Evaluasi pelaksanaan teaching factory SMK di Surakarta bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses pelaksanaan teaching factory SMK di Surakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan evaluasi model formatif-sumatif oleh Scriven yang menekankan pada evaluasi formatif. Populasi penelitian adalah semua SMK di Surakarta yang menjalankan teaching factory berjumlah 9 sekolah dan respondennya adalah 81 guru pengampu kompetensi keahlian yang menjalankan teaching factory di sekolah tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan teaching factory SMK di Surakarta ditinjau dari kegiatan pembelajaran dinyatakan sangat baik (17,28%) oleh 14 guru, baik (39,51%) oleh 32 guru, tidak baik (25,93%) oleh 21 guru, dan sangat tidak baik …
