The coronavirus pandemic has heightened racial discriminations and these discriminations are mostly directed toward Africans living outside the continent. One of the dark spots of the pandemic is that it has been a pandemic of racism in which the fundamental rights and freedoms of Africans are trampled upon. Aside from the health challenges and deaths associated with the COVID-19, Africans are the ones suffering the racial abuses, harassment and violent events in public spaces than any other race.
