Adults in Sierra Leone and some other sub-Saharan countries who are in combat in various groups have unashamedly used and abused children in selfish and dastardly wars, says Hinton (educational studies, Eastern Kentucky U., Richmond). He conducted a study involving 36 street children from the provincial capital Bo and the national capital Freetown, interviewing them not so much about their experiences during the war, but how they felt later about those who had wronged them.
