The accreditation process allows programs to complete the reflection process of program evaluation, where they assess and measure themselves via preset standards and suggested outcomes. The theoretical framework of Getzels and Guba (1957) was used to determine if the people within the nonprofit organization studied could successfully fulfill the predetermined expectations of the organization. This study also examined the value of program evaluation, explained the process used by schools of nursing that wish to seek national accreditation, investigated the benefits and strengths of attaining accreditation, and uncovered possible barriers that may hinder accreditation efforts. The purpose of this study was to conduct a program evaluation of an alternative educational program in North Carolina for high school students at-risk for dropping out. The CIPP model was used to evaluate to what extent the alternative educational program is achieving its stated mission. This mixed-method evaluation consisted of quantitative and qualitative data that included interviews with district- and school-level leaders, surveys from selected staff at six high schools and the alternative educational program, and historical data. A large school district in the southeastern United States has embraced the national Farm to School (F2S) movement. The school district grows organic produce at its farm as well as two greenhouses. The goal of the program is to improve the eating habits of students while giving them insight into the importance of agriculture through educational opportunities. The study of the school district’s F2S program was conducted to determine the effectiveness of the program. Summer vacation is an opportunity for students to relax from the academic demands of school. Unfortunately, during the summer break, student literacy skills decline, and growth is limited. This decline is especially significant for high-poverty students within urban public school districts. This study attempted to answer the following question: Is the School-Wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (SWPBIS) program an effective model to meaningfully decrease student misbehavior and disruptions in a large urban high school as determined by the number of office discipline referrals (ODRs), in-school suspension (ISS) reports, out-of-school suspension (OSS) reports, and truancy reports?
