Abstract
The experiment done by the researcher analyzed the effectiveness of each of the research-based disciplinary strategies commonly used in elementary classrooms. These strategies include positive reinforcement, increased movement in the classroom during instructional time, increased parent communication, and reinforcement of the classroom rules/expectations. The strategies’ effectiveness were tracked through behavioral charts kept by each of the students and marked by the classroom teacher throughout the day. Comprehensive data was sent back to parents on a weekly basis to update them on student behavior. Action Research: Teachers’ Attitudes And Perceptions Of Implementing Restorative Practices, Hannah Erickson

This study closely examines the attitudes of elementary school teachers in regards to their attitudes and perceptions of implementing restorative practices in the school setting. The study utilized interviews with teachers to analyze attitudes toward restorative practices and what steps need to be taken in order to successfully implement it in the district. Participants included eight elementary school teachers who were purposefully chosen to participate in this study. Information gathered from interviews will direct administration to determine the next steps of the implementation process.
