The purpose of the study was the standardization of a library skills test for Tacoma, a metropolitan school district of approximately 34,000 pupils in the State of Washington. The test was standardized on the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grade populations of the district using representative samples. Answers were sought to the following questions: (1) Is the library skills test appropriate for the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grades in Tacoma? (2) Is the test appropriate for both boys and girls at these grade levels?

It was the purpose of this study to (1) evaluate the implementation procedures of the nongraded reading program at Munich Elementary No. l; (2) determine whether reporting and recording student progress met the needs of the students and teachers; (3) discover any difficulties inherent in the present system of assigning and grouping children; and (4) relate the level of achievement experienced in this program to the previously employed program as revealed by an opinion survey of the teachers involved in the program.

The purpose of this study was to compare the academic achievement of boys involved in Scouting with that of boys who were non-scouts but who had equal aptitude for learning as measured by standardized intelligence tests. This experiment was designed to extinguish a sixth grade boy's undesirable classroom behaviors by the complete withdrawal of teacher attention, and to develop and increase in successive approximations, the child's desirable classroom behaviors by frequent and intermittent teacher attention. The study was meant to be: (a) research replicating numerous other similar studies, but in addition be a behavior modification experiment conducted in a regular classroom setting in an elementary school and in as practical a way as possible for a teacher with 30 students, and (b) a response to a request from the boy's teachers for service and help.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between anxiety and achievement, and anxiety level and sex. The anxiety level was measured by the Institute for Personality and Ability Testing (IPAT) Anxiety Scale Questionnaire. Specifically, this study investigated how assessed anxiety relates to the achievement of students in Junior level Psychology courses. The courses were Human Growth and Development. Further, the difference in anxiety levels between sexes was studied.
