The concept of collegial governance is well understood in the post-secondary sector. The basic premise of this is that colleagues make decisions collectively for the benefit of the unit. While collegial governance does aim for consensus, unanimity is not necessary the outcome. The organizational structure of a university is a mediating factor in terms of collegial governance. This research will explore governance structures, specifically in Faculties of Education across Canada. Some comparative analysis will also be undertaken with relevant jurisdictions (i.e., US.)
