This report summarizes a six-weeks internship in the Kalamazoo Public School System served during the summer of 1979.
The purpose of the internship was to introduce the intern to the roles, duties and responsibilities of the Personnel Director of the Employees Services Department of the Central Office.
The primary areas studied were research data, unemployment data, interviewing procedures, planning functions, labor relations and affirmative action.
This report includes a daily journal of activities and experiences, a narrative regarding achievement of specific objectives and additional material pertinent to the internship. The latter includes: A chart of the intern's Selection Research Inc. …

This major internship for the Specialist Project was served in Glen Oaks Community College, Centreville, Michigan. This 2-year college institution was established in June of 1965 and during the internship had a student enrollment of over 1,200 full-time equated (FTE) students. There were four main divisions through which programs were offered to students. They were: (a) Liberal Arts, (b) Vocational/Technical, (c) Nursing, and (d) Community Service. The supervisor of the internship was Mr. Rodger J. Eckhardt, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

A Comparison Of Isotonic Versus Isokinetic Exercise In The Development Of Strength And Concomitant Enhancement Of Body Proportions For College Females, Diane Lloyd Gillo

This study compared Isotonic to Isokinetic exercise in an eight-week resistance training program for college females. Strength development and anthropometric measurements were evaluated by the correlated t test of initial and final scores. The independent t test compared mean improvement scores between the Isotonic group (N=14-) and the Isokinetic group (N=15)» All strength items showed significant improvement within each group; however, neither program proved superior for general strength gain. The only significant difference between groups favored the Isotonic group in leg extension. A trend was observed in enhancement of body proportions, measured anthropometrically. The major internship for the Specialist Project was served in the Office of Instructional Development on the Western Michigan University Campus. This Office has established a variety of programs and services to improve the University's educational programs and to aid other institutions of higher education. The Supervisor of the internship was Dr. Howard Poole, the Head of the Office of Instructional Development, and the University advisor was Dr. Kenneth E. Dickie. A Learner Verification And Revision Of A Linear Programmed Text, Frank J. Schwartz

A field testing procedure was implemented using a programmed text with two high school introductory business classes. The text attempted to teach concepts related to the stockmarket. Pretest and post test measures were taken for each class. After the first class was used the text, the program was revised based upon post test data. The criterion for whether or not to revise a frame sequence teaching an objective was 11% of the students failing the post test item testing that objective. The revised program was used by the second class. Comparisons were made between post tests. Twenty-eight of a possible …
