This research was designed to investigate whether there would be a difference in mean exhaled carbon monoxide levels and mean number of cigarettes smoked for two randomized groups of smokers.Smoking cessation therapy was manipulated in smokers with a chronic, productive cough (COPD) and those who were asymptomatic (normal). Individual therapy was compared to self-help therapy.The main purpose of this study was an attempt to define the smoking cessation therapy that worked best for each of these two groups.With the information gained from this research, it was hoped that educating different types of smokers (those with and without lung disease) about …

The career myths concept was developed in recent years to explain one type of difficulty that counselors have in helping clients implement a rational plan of career decision-making.Career myths are those incorrect or self-defeating career-related beliefs or attitudes which either 1) serve to inhibit the client from making a career decision, or 2) cause the client to make a premature decision, without sufficient regard for self or occupational information.College counselors consider career myths to be a major impediment to rational career planning.

The problem of this study was to determine the status of the mathematics teachers in Nebraska high schools for the school year 1946-1947. Data were gathered regarding the positions held by mathematics teachers, the sex of mathematics teachers, the salary, experience, tenure, teaching load, combination of mathematics with other subject-matter fields, activities sponsored, and the preparation for teaching of mathematics teachers.
