For many years there has been much interest in the use of human figure drawings as a projective technique for diagnostic use with the mentally ill. Psychiatric implications are attributed to practically every possible characteristic exhibited in the human figure, but until recently, little has been done toward establishing standards or norms describing objectively how various groups in the population actually perform when asked to draw a person. This study has been made for the purpose of gaining general knowledge and understanding of the industrial in-plant training programs in Kansas. Information gathered concerning Kansas industrial training programs was obtained by the use of a questionnaire sent to one hundred Kansas industries. It was found there is a very wide range of in-plant training programs operated by the various industries. Each plant, due to its nature of work, was responsible for this variation in training programs. Of the eight basic training programs set up by this study, on-the-job training was most used by the companies contacted.

This study was undertaken to use the mechanical aptitude test in determining if the proper students are making the best use of the available shop facilities at Sarasota Junior High School, Sarasota, Florida.

Books, magazines, bulletins, questionnaires, mechanical aptitude and other test results were used in compiling this information.

An attempt has been made to point out deficiencies and inconsistencies in the present arrangement and to make recommendations for their correction. The following recommendations were proposed:

(1) Aptitude testing should be continued;

(2) all those counseling students on enrollment should be held to become better informed as to the importance …

The problem was to determine the historical background and trends of the general shop in the state of Kansas. Sources of information were secured in a survey of all accredited school districts in the state of Kansas by the use of a questionnaire. Information was taken from interviews with individuals having been influential in advocating and using the general shop as an organizational procedure and from letters which were sent to Kansas colleges and the junior colleges which were known to use a general shop in their industrial arts program.
