Early intervention in preschool mathematics instruction is key. Studies have shown that the development of early math skills may be the single most important factor for determining future school success. This school improvement plan lays out the necessary steps that the Sioux City Community School District (SCCSD) can follow to implement a Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) for the Preschool Initiative classrooms that are a part of the Iowa Statewide Voluntary Preschool Program for Four-Year-Olds.
