The COVID-19 pandemic swept the world in a cascade of crises, impacting every industry and individual. This study sought to analyze the prevailing narratives of higher education news coverage during the initial crisis event of COVID-19, when colleges and universities around the world closed their doors and sent students home. In March of 2020, schools were abruptly forced to close their doors for in-person learning due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. Schools quickly adjusted to online learning in order to continue educating students. This was a drastic change for both teachers and students, and hugely impacted all stakeholders. DePaul's College of Education devised ways for its students to get student-teaching experience when schools moved to remote learning in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Graduates were invited to participate in a mentoring and coaching program, Teaching Strategies and Resources 2020, starting with online, self-paced modules to review the fundamentals in those identified areas of need. The Education and Counseling Center (ECC) shifted all sessions online and thus expanded its counseling and tutoring services.
