Social media has a strong influence on adolescents. The effects of social media use can be both positive and negative for adolescents. Social media makes adolescents feel more connected to their friends, family, and interests. On the other hand, it creates an unhealthy reliance by some adolescents which can cause problems with addiction, communication, mental health, and schooling. Addiction to technology and cell phones in particular is a negative pertaining to adolescents.
