Enhancing Architecture Education With The Use Of Technology, Rania Basheer, Fatima Kazimi
Architecture and Planning Journal (APJ)
This paper presents effective ideas for using technology in design studio courses. These courses are based on some small well defined projects during the semester, in each of these projects students will pass through design process contain some clear steps. The attempt of this paper is to integrate technological methods in each stage of the design process. The paper first will outlines (agree on) five main stages in design process starting from research stage until the final jury presentation and then comes the faculties’ summative assessment. In each step technological modern methods are introduced. E-learning-podcasting, social media, smart boards, virtual …

Re-Thinking Bloom's Taxonomy By Integrating Digital Simulation In, Samer El Sayary, Hiba Mohsen, Lamis Mantash
Architecture and Planning Journal (APJ)
Despite the significant developments in adapting Bloom's taxonomy in architectural design studio in the last few years, in addition to the advancements in applying digital media in the education process, there is still no integrated framework that combines all threads together. The learning objectives of advanced design studio include pragmatic thinking through testing new hypotheses, evaluating and applying different parameters, and identifying appropriate decisions. These are only achieved once barriers between design studio and building sciences considerations are overcome by addressing the process of simulation across the domains and levels of the revised Bloom's taxonomy. The Design Studio and building …
