Teachers’ competences should be shaped from a very early stage of their training (Mâţă, Cmeciu, & Ghiaţău, 2013). For that reason, pre-service teachers are required to get involved in teaching internships and gain professional experience from training programs and workshops. These experiences are assets for these pre-service teachers when they resume teaching positions upon graduation. This study aimed to find out the degree to which Islamic education teachers in the Sultanate of Oman practice emotional intelligence skills according to the Golman’s model and its relation to professional competence within some variables. The study used the descriptive approach. The sample consisted of 200 male and female teachers, selected randomly from 31 schools in Muscat Governorate. To achieve the study aims, two scales of emotional intelligence skills and professional competence were used after checking the validity and reliability of the tools. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan kompetensi pedagogis dan kompetensi profesional guru PPKn dengan prestasi belajar siswa di SMA Negeri se-Kota Yogyakarta. Metode penelitian ini adalah korelasional dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui angket dan dokumentasi. Analisis data untuk pengujian hipotesis menggunakan korelasi product moment sederhana dan regresi berganda. This study explores the challenges of assessing student workplace performance during work-integrated learning. It highlights the need for, yet difficulties with, combining positivist and constructivist assessments where workplace supervisors make evaluative judgements on performance yet students are also agents in their own assessment. It examines the ratings awarded by 163 workplace supervisors for 213 business undergraduates completing a work placement as part of their degree program in Western Australia. Students were rated on 17 capabilities associated with employability and results indicate, in alignment with previous studies, a tendency among supervisors to assign inflated marks across capabilities. Practicum is a key element of initial teacher education (ITE) programmes, designed to support the professional growth of student teachers. Practicum is also a key point of assessment, leading to a determination of the student’s professional growth and their readiness to teach and enter the teaching profession. This study sought to understand the way in which the assessment of practicum was enacted and experienced within New Zealand early childhood ITE programmes.
