Accreditation As A Framework For School Improvement: A Quantitavite Study, Michael A. Burroughs

This study investigated the perceptions of heads of schools from accredited schools concerning whether the accreditation process, as prescribed by the League of Christian Schools (LCS), leads to improvement in leadership capacity and the impact of instruction on the learning environment. The League of Christian Schools has developed an accreditation process that is based in systems theory as espoused by Senge (2006), which contributed to the theoretical framework for this study. Administrators in LCS member K12 schools provided 25 responses to an anonymous online survey. Christian education is distinct, but school leaders are not always aware of, or may not agree on, what makes it so. The term, Christian education, is ubiquitous, but is not precise. Christian educators require clear, rich language that can be used to effectively communicate the specific norms, operations, and aims of their work. Through the use of John Frame’s triperspectival methodology, this article provides a focused epistemological, metaphysical, and axiological analysis of the unique nature of Christian education with the aim of producing clarifying terminology. The purpose of this non-experimental predictive-correlational study was to examine the relationship between job satisfaction and religiosity among teachers working in evangelical Christian schools. This study was grounded in two theories: Herzberg's two-factor theory of motivation and spiritual leadership theory. Herzberg's theory of motivation helps explain how teachers become satisfied or dissatisfied by distinguishing between motivational and hygiene factors. Spiritual leadership theory helps understand the importance of spirituality in the workplace and its relation to Christian religiosity in the workplace. The purpose of the present quantitative study is to compare mean scores on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) compared between Classical Christian schools and non-Classical Christian schools to see if there are any significant differences in selected areas of academic performance. This study reviews the tenents of adult learning. Christian education and creative drama and presents the observation that there are parallel objectives in each of these three major areas.
