In order to meet the needs of the students of the 21st century, the traditional methods for teaching in the secondary instrumental music classroom should be updated. The Google Suite coupled with a variety of commonly used instructional music technology programs is one way to modify the traditional classroom to accommodate modern learners. Community colleges have a significant role in preparing students for STEM-related careers through certificates, degrees, and transfers to four-year institutions. In addition, online education is a growing mode of higher education, particularly for community college students. However, community college and online students are both at a high risk of attrition and show a lower success rate for degree completion. The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study is to find the essence of the experiences of Hispanic students who persist to complete online degrees at accredited universities. This information is essential to grasp the factors that motivated these students to complete their degrees. The central question is, “What are the experiences of Hispanic students who persisted to complete online undergraduate degree programs?” Purposeful sampling was used, and journal entries, interviews, and letters of advice were utilized through email and telephone communications.
