The Saudi Arabian Government’s establishment of the multi-billion dollar King Abdullah Scholarship Program (KASP), which sends students abroad for language training and university study, is responsible for tens of thousands of Saudi men studying in the United States. With the extension of the program through 2020, it is critical that education leaders in higher education and stakeholders at all levels understand the challenges and opportunities presented by this group increasingly populating American classrooms. This quantitative investigation focused on women high school principals at Jewish secular schools throughout Israel. Despite challenges, Israeli women have succeeded in obtaining over half of the principal positions at Jewish secular high schools, but the degree to which there is equal gender access to leadership roles in the school system remains unclear. This study explored the experienced adjustment period for international students following their arrival to the U.S. and whether or not any expressed challenges could be attributed to some type of cultural intolerance or positionality by members of the host culture. This study investigated the experiences of international students’ adjustment strategies as told in their voices and perspectives. Included is an in-depth discussion focusing on strategies for overcoming challenges as well as a rich description of cultural intolerances that contribute to the stresses experienced by international students. This paper provides a brief overview of early education in Malaysia with focus on the issues and challenges in providing quality early education for a multiethnic society. Conflicting interests between majority and minority ethnic groups not only cause different educational outcomes and expectations for children and families but also create challenges to the government to provide quality and equality of education to all young children. Some suggestions for a framework for early education in Malaysia are discussed.

The National Security Education Program, established under the National Security Education Act of 1991, has had a post-funding service requirement in the Federal Government for undergraduate scholarship and graduate fellowship recipients since its inception. The service requirement, along with the concern that the National Security Education Program was and remains funded by the United States Department of Defense, was very controversial in the early years of the program and remains a concern for some faculty and scholarly organizations to this day.
