An Exploration Of Test Taking Strategy With Sixth Grade Students, Mary Bates

The present study was an attempt to evaluate the benefits of certain cues in reaching correct answers to test questions given to sixth grade students. While it seems reasonable to assume that test-taking strategy is not as well developed in sixth grade children as in older students, this study was intended to discover if test-taking strategy would be apparent to a measurable degree at this age level. Before such an observation could be undertaken, a technique had to be devised to measure the behavior in question (in this case the use of cues). The technique used was in the form …
