The purpose of this study is threefold: (1) to state and define the philosophy of the creative dramatics program; (2) to give suggestions to teachers as to how creative dramatics can, and should, be a part of the curriculum; (3) to provide a means by which teachers can improve their instruction and thus promote a better appreciation for creative dramatics.

It is the purpose of this document (1) to present original compositions as musical settings for selected children’s poetry that can be used as suitable material to supplement the singing activities of the elementary grades; (2) to assist, through the use of these original compositions, in developing more desirable attitudes toward the appreciation of new sounds and ideas found in modern and contemporary music; and (3) to stimulate a greater appreciation of children’s poetry through the examples used in this study.

It is the purpose of this study (1) to survey the general nature of current practices in handwriting of the schools within the state of Washington which are classed as a group two and three according to the Washington Education Association’s Thirty-Fourth annual Teachers’ Salary Study; and (2) to determine the relative importance of handwriting in the intermediate curriculum of these schools.

The Problem
I. Intent. The purpose of this study is two-fold. The first is to survey historical fiction with a view to the selection, on the basis of established criteria, of readings which would be suitable for use in a senior high school course of study in world history. The second purpose is to determine certain periods as recognized by teachers of world history in which such literature is readily available.
