Blended learning is an instructional model in which instruction is delivered using a combination of traditional teaching methods and online learning materials such as digital textbooks, virtual textbooks, and teacher-made videos. The problem was that elementary teachers in local schools were not implementing blended learning as intended by the school’s improvement plan. AbstractWith the introduction of Common Core State Standards in 2009, there has been an increase in the expectations for writing instruction in the United States. Writing instruction standards are now part of language arts and other content areas, but many teachers feel unprepared to teach writing. This study focused on the support administrators give to truant elementary rural students in a southeastern state using a qualitative approach. Students must be accustomed to attending school daily. Chronic absence in kindergarten foretells low classroom success levels at the end of 5th grade.
