Proposal Application for 2012 Innovative Approaches Using Technology to Advance the Student Experience. This proposal outlines a plan to utilize the DigitalCommons Collection as a unifying platform that can be the vehicle for community scholarship, creativity, and outreach. This article communicates a strategy to connect the URI community through multiple points of access and create a blended environment in which all people may share and learn from each other.
A rough draft of the proposal has been included demonstrating a slightly different interface and the beginnings of the writing process.

The eMCC is a bi-annual electronic publication from the University of Rhode Island’s Multicultural Center. It features original creative works from undergraduate/graduate students, staff/faculty members, and guest contributors. eMCC is a growing branch off of an idea that a wealth of diversity exists in our daily lives. During the 2008-2009 school year I volunteered through the Mentor/Tutor Internship program at the East Bay Met School in Newport, RI. I formed solid relationships with many of the students and the staff and discovered unexpectedly how much I enjoyed being in a school setting. In the fall of 2009 I obtained permission from the principal and the advisors to experiment with a syllabus I created for my Senior Honors Project- a 10 week course on Hispanic language and culture called Exposure.
