Established in 2018, the U.S. Space Force is the newest branch of the U.S. military. The reality of space as an arena for international geopolitical and military competition has been around for decades in scholarly literature. This presentation will examine recently published and publicly accessible U.S. Government and military literature on Space Force. These works examine various economic, military, and political aspects of this entity and how it may affect U.S. national security policy in years to come.

Teacher social capital is a set of social interaction assets such as collegiality and collaboration that enable teachers to work with each other in groups to improve teaching and learning. This results in instructional improvement and student success in school reform.

This study discusses how an engineering education teacher professional development program has developed an environment for long-term collegiality and collaboration among its teachers. Furthermore, the study presents an empirical evidence of the impact of teacher social capital on students’ engineering knowledge learning.

This presentation discusses a health information literacy project for teens that was a collaboration between librarians and experts in health communications and school administration. They co-developed and co-taught a required high school health course in Spring 2016 using student-centered active learning techniques. The course project was a “Teen Health” website developed by the students.

This presentation was given at the Library Assessment Conference held from October 31–November 2, 2016 in Arlington, VA. The Purdue University Libraries, like many academic libraries, face increased expectations for demonstrating their value and impact. The Libraries launched a project to advance an outcomes-based, mission-centric framework for evaluating its information literacy programing. Initially, we had little success with remote CART and VRI on our campus. In this session, remote CART and VRI will be described, and our problem-solving approach will be explained.
