This project for the Van Buren Vocational-Technical Center, Lawrence, Michigan, was designed to provide management with an instrument to assist them in their annual vocational program planning activities. The result was the development of a decision-making model that applies objective evaluative methods for determining occupational program additions, revisions, and terminations.
The model employs separate matrix worksheets for adding, revising, and terminating job training programs. Each classification utilizes five components for completing the worksheet: (1) selection of ten evaluation criteria, (2) criteria weights, (3) criteria definitions, (4) criteria data source information, and (5) criteria cell scores for applying data source values …

The purpose of this field study was to develop an Individualized Career Plan program for use at Effingham High School. An Individualized Career Plan is based on a process that relates a student's formal learning experiences to his/her career goals. The Individualized Career Plan is a tool for students and staff to use to coordinate school career developmental experiences. The Individualized Career Plan is used as a roadmap for the future to help students make effective career decisions.

In an effort to obtain careers that are competitive, with advancement opportunities, persons identified as visually impaired have been blocked by attitudinal barriers of society. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of employer attitudes on employment opportunities for persons who are visually impaired in competition with individuals who are sighted. The population surveyed was a group of 200 employers of accountants field in the state of Illinois. The study was conducted using a questionnaire and a set of eight resumes of fictional individuals. The purpose of the study was to investigate the problems involved in current supervision of vocational high schools in the Republic of China and propose methods of improving such supervision. Emphasis was placed on the supervision of teaching and administration in the field of vocational education.
A review of related literature revealed that supervision was a synthesis of curriculum, instruction, administration, human relationships, management, and leadership. Supervision should stimulate, coordinate, and guide vocational high school teaching.

Leadership Intern positions in Vocational Education were funded in the State of Illinois for the 1980-81 fiscal year. Eastern Illinois University provided the base of experiential and formal learning for one of the Intern positions in the Occupational Education office under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
During the fiscal year of July 1, 1980, to June 30, 1981, the Intern based at Eastern was admitted to and enrolled in the Specialist degree program in Educational Administration earning a total of twenty-two semester hours. This field experience is a portion of that degree program.

A longitudinal follow-up was conducted of three and five year graduates of vocational .high school programs in Cassopolis, Dowagiac, Edwardsburg and Marcellus High School in Southwestern Michigan. A questionnaire was administered to determine if high school vocational training was related to the graduate's present occupation, leisure time activities and advanced educational training.
Only 18% of the questionnaires were returned. The findings revealed 61% of the respondents indicated present employment was directly or somewhat related to vocational training in high school; 4-6% of those who responded replied that present leisure time activities were directly or somewhat related to their high school …

The Cooperative Education program at Lake Land College strives to provide training for students in any vocational/technical career. This is accomplished by individualizing curriculum plans using courses available on campus and securing a training station for them in local business or industrial establishments. Title VIII funding for the school year 1979 - 80 provided an opportunity to develop curriculum packages for ten of the most requested career areas. The purpose of the study was to interest students in health occupations and to provide information concerning personal qualifications, education, licensing, remuneration, career mobility and where more information could be obtained.
To accomplish this, health workers were invited to the school during the noon hour to speak to students who were interested. Interest was promoted by means of a prominently placed, permanent bulletin kept up-to-date with a year-schedule and a current-meeting announcement attached. A primary objective of the field experience consisted of conducting a feasibility study for the establishment of a Career Education Instructional Cooperative for the high schools within the Crawford Educational Service Region, Illinois.
Major employers, students in each Crawford County high school, and randomly selected parents of county high school students were surveyed as part of the study. The results indicated a need for skilled workers to fill a void in Crawford County businesses and industries. Projections were made by the employers surveyed to 1985. The Field Study consisted of an internship in administration. An internship in administration in the field of vocational education appeared most beneficial to interests and objectives of the writer. The internship was served under the supervision of the director of vocational education and athletics. Activities in which the writer was involved within the athletic department offered limited value towards administrative experience beyond general supervision at athletic events. During June, 1976, three career guidance workshops were conducted for four school districts in Central Illinois. Funded with monies through the Division of Adult, Vocational and Technical Education, Illinois Office of Education, these five-day workshops established a model for districts of all sizes to follow in developing curriculum based career guidance programs.
