This interactive workshop utilizes Critical Pedagogy, Image Theater, and Forum Theater in the instruction of race, human, and gender relations. It borrows from Paulo Freire and Augusto Boal’s concept of Humanizing Education. Praxis, the dialectical relationship between thought and practice, becomes the vehicle for establishing a problem solving process that leads to “Permanent Relationships.”

“We believe it is the duty of both policy makers and educators to identify qualified minority youth and place them in channels that ensure success.” The ultimate objective of any college minority recruitment and retention effort should be to train and cultivate qualified students of color for leadership in their community, as well as the general society.
