The purpose of this study was to determine the efficiency of ethnic group children in the use of English idiomatic expressions as found in standard reading texts in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. The procedure followed was: (1) To prepare a multiple-choice test of idioms used in readers in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades in the elementary schools; (2) To administer this idioms test to a selected sample of sixth grade Anglo children to establish percentile ranks as norms for comparison purposes for all sixth graders in Gallup-McKinley County schools; (3) To compare the performance of sixth grade …

This study will investigate and examine the school program in terms of its potential to contribute to the education of the gifted child, taking into account the methods by which the regular school program may be enriched or diversified to motivate or enable the gifted child to reach his optimum development.
