In this session, we describe an interdisciplinary learning community program designed to improve retention among freshman students with three developmental placements. We will discuss how a similar program could be developed at other institutions and emphasize issues of transferability and scalability in the context of declining resources and retention.

Each presenter has different outcomes and assessments in using the StrengthsQuest learning approach. Department chairs are often exposed to occupational stressors that may lead to burnout. The presenters will discuss a chair support group they developed to provide one another support, insight, perspective, collaboration, advocacy, and resources. Implementation strategies for a variety of initiatives will be offered.
