In the Summer of 2014 the Raynor Memorial Libraries was given the opportunity to add a library widget to all course homepages in Desire2Learn, Marquette's Learning Management System (LMS).

The widget, developed with HTML, CSS and jQuery, allows students to search the library catalog and link to various library services such as ILL and E-Reserves directly from within a course site.

Recently, Google Analytics has been added to the widget allowing the libraries to analyze usage and student searches by course. Come learn about the development and implementation of this widget.

The flipped classroom that started in K-12 has now caught the attention of higher education as a way of encouraging deeper and more meaningful learning for students.
This presentation will demonstrate how, by using an Articulate Storyline SCORM package within the Desire2Learn platform, librarians and instructors flipped the information literacy training session.
A similar version of this presentation was also given at the 2014 Wisconsin Desire2Learn Ignite Regional User Conference in Waukesha, WI.

The USF Tampa Library has been creating learning objects to enhance instruction and reference since YouTube came into its own in 2006. Over that period of time, the need for more expertise in creating quality learning objects that can be embedded in course management systems or on the library web site created a shift in priorities and leadership. In 2012 the USF Library hired an Assistant Director for Instruction and a Blended Librarian to provide a new direction for the instruction program, one that would include more online learning components.
