“Defunding” Race In Field Supervision Contexts: Deconstructing And Responding To White Preservice Teachers’ Majoritarian Narratives, Kimberly Oamek

Journal of Educational Supervision

Teachers must robustly understand how race and racism operate both in and out of the classroom to structure inequity. However, the existence of a deeply entrenched majoritarian mindset remains a principal obstacle to preparing such teachers. In this empirical paper, the author draws on the critical race theory construct of “majoritarian storytelling” (Delgado, 1989) to make visible and examine the narratives told by white preservice teachers upon completion of their preparation programs. An Analysis Of The Education System In Turkey: Supervision Policies Between The Years 1980 – 2021, Anıl K. Eranıl, Ali Erkan Barış

This article intends to delineate the policy of the supervision system, which is a sub-system of the Turkish education system, for the years 1980-2021, through policy analysis. A systematic literature review (SLR) analyzed the research findings of 44 studies. The findings of the study were categorized according to four main themes that Eranıl (2021) pinpointed as the critical periods in the history of the Turkish education system. Critical periods were classified as a post-coup period: (1980-1997), compulsory eight-year education period: (1997-2005), constructivist period: (2005-2012), 4 + 4 + 4 education system period: (2012 and later). The literature suggests that working alliance is an important predictor of clinical supervision outcomes. However, little is known about the individual factors that influence the development and maintenance of the working alliance. This study aims to explore the role of supervisor and trainee personality traits in the development of early working alliances, as well as supervisor and trainee concordance rates in the context of clinical supervision. This study used the NEO-PI-3 measure to assess personality traits and the Working Alliance Inventory-Supervisor and Trainee Versions (WAI) measures to assess working alliance ratings.
