Residential or boarding schools can be traced to the early history of the United States. Initially developed to serve indigenous peoples, the residential school of the 21st century attracts and serves students from diverse ethnic, racial, socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. This paper uses the population of graduates from a large high school with both residential and commuter students serving specifically students with Native Hawaiian ancestry.
