Upon my return from studying abroad, people asked, "How was Bangladesh?" as if they were asking about a relative I visited in Florida. "How was Uncle Fred?" Smiling, I replied "Good, I loved it." The conversation typically turned to other matters. Others asked, "What is the biggest thing you learned while you were gone?" I am a teacher. I have chosen to invest three years of my life as well as my undergraduate college experience to learn how to educate. In the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary (2007), education is defined as "the field of study that deals mainly with methods of teaching and learning in schools." No one can claim to be perceptive of the current religious and educational trends in this nation without noticing the phenomenal growth of Protestant day schools. Some have claimed that as many as four new schools are being built each day , but more reasonable estimates of two per day are still staggering .
