A State Energy Program Involving The Montana State University System, R. O. Warrington Jr., J. A. Charles

UMR-MEC Conference on Energy / UMR-DNR Conference on Energy

This paper concerns the University's role in a statewide energy program being developed in Montana. Using the facilities and expertise available in the Montana State University System, a program of research, education and information activities will be enacted which will encourage energy conservation and the use of alternate energy devices. In this way the University will realize its full public service potential.

Dickey-Lincoln School Lakes Project

The Dickey-Lincoln Hydroelectric Dam is a water resources project proposed by the Federal Government (U. S. Army Corps of Engineers). Therefore, in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the Corps of Engineers is required to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) on the project. A federal plan or project such as Dickey-Lincoln should take into account its effect upon man's health, safety, welfare and economic well-being, as well as effects upon the surrounding environment. This bibliography has been prepared to accompany In Praise of Diversity: A Resource Book for Multicultural Education, published by Teacher Corps and the Association of Teacher Educators. In Praise of Diversity brings together in concentrated form information about a number of ethnic and racial groups in the United States and discusses basic issues in multicultural education. This bibliography is also being offered for use by teachers in order to recommend wider sources of printed and audio-visual materials.

In Praise of Diversity: Multicultural Classroom Applications was written for the classroom teacher who is interested in implementing multicultural education. The book includes 51 activities written in the following subject areas: Social Studies, Language Arts, Science/Math and Art. Included within the activities are two units.
