Leadership is a necessary component for the success of any group. Without this difficult to define skill, organizations flounder and individuals lack direction. Green acknowledged that leadership is difficult to define. He believes that leadership is difficult to predict, but people know it when they see it. How leadership is perceived is an important component in helping a person become a stronger leader. Anecdotal evidence portrayed individuals who never considered themselves a leader are, in fact, perceived as leaders by their peers. However, also report the antithesis of this statement.
