In 1948, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) as a common standard of achievement and called upon every individual and organ of society to promote the rights enshrined in the document. The UDHR has been applied in many ways around the world, including by the international Human Rights Cities movement, which began in Rosario, Argentina, in 1997.

Patron-driven and demand-driven acquisitions (PDA/DDA) have been utilized for some time in academic libraries, but some university libraries are still new to the process. With changes in the last couple of years regarding shortterm monograph loans becoming cost ineffective, the popularity of streaming video PDA, and library materials budgets increasingly being cut, the conundrum of successfully implementing a DDA/PDA program and how to evaluate its effectiveness is a question many libraries need to answer. Students in an air traffic control program are required to learn and apply advance knowledge and skills in a limited time frame. All students learn at different rates as well as through different learning styles. Swivl is a video capture tool designed to enhance student learning by allowing students to refer back to their individual classroom lab training session videos via an online portal. Swivl is being utilized in two ATC lab courses. Experiences of profiling, racism and discrimination are a part of life for many students in America. Perceptions of non-white, African International students about African American students is influenced by stereotypes and inadequate historical context of Black American experiences. This qualitative study addresses Black students from various parts of the African diaspora's experiences of racism, and perceptions of race/ethnic-based biases during their educational experiences in a predominantly white institution (PWI), through semi-structured interviews.
