The purpose of this research is to find out parent efforts to build young children character, parent behavior to choose daily needs and to develop model of character building by selection of products on young children. This is a survei and mixed method model. The results of this study were (1) Parent skill in choosing Indonesian product are poor 25.1%, fail or medium 53.9%, and good 21% product selectivity. This essay was aimed at describing the development of civic knowledge, civic skill and civic disposition on textbooks for junior high school namely "Belajar Memahami Kewarganegaraan 1, 2 and 3". Based on content analysis, it can be conducted that civic education element was developed through teaching material presented accompanied by features, such as additional boxes, every chapter including pictures, law corner, info, public figures, and citizenship dictionary. The research was an explorative research deploying interview and questionnaire as collecting data methods. Collected data was analyzed descriptive qualitatively. Classroom Action Research was conducted in class VIII C SMP Negeri 3 Berbah Academic Year 2013/2014 by using Jigsaw cooperative learning approach. This study aims to implement cooperative learning Jigsaw to improve the activity and learning outcomes of students in the subject of Citizenship Education. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive analysis. This research aimed at (1) developing teaching materials based on local content for Civic Education in University; and (2) describing the potential impact of local content on student consciousness on local culture. It was a developmental research. The subject were student registered in Civic Education Course (Mata Kuliah PKn) at History Department. Pilot project was validated through one to one, small group, and field evaluation. The analyzed result indicates that the developed instrument was valid and has potential impact.
