The Impact Of Student Achievement Based Upon The Differences Between Teacher Perception Of Blended Learning And Their Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, Jason Dewayne Pizzino
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
The purpose of this quantitative, correlational research study was to understand if student benchmark scores in a blended learning environment were predicted by teachers’ Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK). This study used a correlational methodology to examine if in a blended learning environment, teachers’ perceptions of the TPACK score predict their students’ scores on the second nine-weeks benchmark test in a middle school mathematics. Bivariate linear regression was used for data analysis to determine the predictive relationship between teachers' TPACK-21CL survey score and their students' second nine weeks benchmark score using the latest SPSS software. The data was collected from …

In the Philippines, one challenge that continues to be faced by the Department of Education in bringing educational content in a blended learning modality is the lack of internet access of the learners. This paper discusses the distribution, through a community LTE network, of mathematical resources for Grades 7 to 10 to teachers and students of a particular high school in the Philippines. It also gives details on particular technological tools (mathematical applications) that were created to help the mathematical learning of students in a remote setting.

Master's Theses & Capstone Projects
Many educators believe traditional learning environments need to be enhanced to be more engaging to students. New educational methods need to be dynamic and responsive to connect with today’s learners. One of the most popular new methods is blended learning, which combines dynamic online content with engaging face-to-face learning activities. This review of literature aims to explore the impacts this learning model has made in science classrooms. By changing the way that information is delivered to students, teachers are able to create more in-class learning opportunities for students. Students are able to practice more in the presence of their teacher, …

It is easier than ever to provide video feedback. Research has shown that video feedback, among other things, can help increase conversational and afective communication. However, research also suggests that despite its benefts, instructors and students might prefer text-based feedback. The following paper responds to research by Borup, West, and Thomas (Educ Technol Res Dev 63(2): 161–184. https://doi.org/10.1007/s11423-015- 9367-8, 2015), describes the value of their research, how it can be applied, some limitations, and future areas of research in a time where colleges are shifting to digital

Faculty Works: Business (1973-2022)
Advancements in video capture and learning management systems (LMS) provide faculty with more tools than ever before to effectively teach quantitative business subjects to graduate students enrolled in blended and online courses. Students pursuing an MBA often come from diverse educational and professional backgrounds, with some continuing directly from undergraduate programs while others may be returning to school after spending years in the workforce. These students require instructional design that is both comprehensive and flexible to meet their various needs, accommodating the increasing preference for visual content delivery. Early in an MBA program, a course in quantitative analysis often serves …

This paper explores the cultural spaces that had to be negotiated by a team of North American and Ghanaian partners when designing, developing and implementing a mobile and blended learning solution to train physician assistants in Ghana. In addition, it examines how these cultural spaces correspond to five mobile and blended learning spaces: temporal, physical, transactional, technological and pedagogical. Employing qualitative narrative inquiry and paradigmatic analysis procedures, we analyzed six types of data to determine the cultural spaces that emerged. Results indicate that cultural spaces were most often negotiated in the transactional mobile and blended learning space and included: identity …

The field of K–12 online and blended learning is varied and growing. Regardless of whether a student is enrolled in a brick-and-mortar school and taking one or two courses online, or if they are completing all of their education from a cyber school, more and more students are enrolled in online and blended learning opportunities each school year. Over the past decade, there have been successive legislative and regulatory changes in jurisdiction after jurisdiction designed to encourage this growth in K–12 online and blended learning. Many of these changes have been spurred by proponent claims that K–12 online and blended …

Many involved with the practice or study of K-12 online and blended learning are familiar with the American context. It surrounds us in the media and published research. However, online and blended learning is occurring in meaningful ways to address specific K-12 student needs all around the globe. There are several areas where the international practice is consistent with what we know about the United States (e.g., similar evolutions, early initiatives were government-funded, many of the labels are similar). At the same time, there are some key differences internationally (e.g., the prevalence of legacy forms of distance education, a lack …
