Female Medical Students’ Lived Experiences Of Financial Stress And Coping, Untara Shaikh, Dr. Kimberlee Bonura
Georgia Public Health Association Annual Meeting and Conference
Financial stress is a pervasive concern among medical students, with documented associations with adverse physical health, psychological morbidity, and ineffective coping. This study focuses on understanding the financial stressors female medical students face and the coping strategies they employ. While financial stress and coping mechanisms have been explored in the literature, a notable gap exists in understanding these dynamics among female students.
The study employed a phenomenological research approach to obtain data from the respondents, where data collection involved face-to-face semi-structured interviews. The Adaptation Model of Nursing, complemented by Lazarus and Folkman's Coping Theory, was a comprehensive framework for analyzing …

Association of Marketing Theory and Practice Proceedings 2024
#EventCanvas Methodology is an innovative event design process that presents collective online teaching and learning strategies for marketing students and business schools. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly increased the speed of digitalization in marketing and business education. Now, even more research is needed for studies introducing and examining new online teaching and learning strategies. Based on the principles of the Spreading Activation Theory, the purpose of this study is twofold: (1) to explore students’ online learning experience for the #EventCanvas Methodology, and (2) to examine the instructors’ teaching experience with this methodology by developing meme maps. It is proposed that …
Investigating Division Quest: A Text-Based Adventure Narrative Game For Overcoming Difficulties Of Mitosis Learning, Amanda G. Conner
Investigating Division Quest: A Text-Based Adventure Narrative Game For Overcoming Difficulties Of Mitosis Learning, Amanda G. Conner
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Mitosis learning is a source of struggle for many introductory biology students. Much of this difficulty stems from an overwhelming amount of terminology and moving pieces as well as the abstract nature of cellular processes. Game-based learning (GBL) has been used in other contexts to reduce cognitive load and provide relatable experiences upon which students can construct their mental models. However, commercial GBL is often expensive and difficult to align with individual instructor teaching preferences and learning objectives. In this study, we use a mixed methods approach to explore the use of a GBL tool made in Twine to overcome …
