An academic nurse educator with a high level of socio-emotional competence (SEC) can create an inviting learning environment that promotes the highest level of achievement from students. The purpose of this two-group pretest-posttest experimental study was to determine the extent of effectiveness of socio-emotional intelligence education and a reflection-guided professional development plan in improving the socio-emotional competence of academic nurse educators. The problem is there is a lack of research studies focused on evaluating the effect of a Christian college/education setting on nursing students’ level of spirituality and resilience. The purpose of this quantitative comparative study was to examine the differences between Christian and non-faith-based pre-licensure baccalaureate nursing education programs for spirituality and resiliency. Among many of the innovative changes in nursing education, high-fidelity simulation is expanding roles and providing students with new perspectives. The purpose of this quantitative, causal-comparative, posttest only, nonexperimental, between-groups research design study was to determine whether students in active supervisor (observer) roles had an effect on associate degree nursing (ADN) students’ self-perceived knowledge, skills, and attitudes in comparison to students in active participant roles. The purpose of this hermeneutic qualitative study was to discover and describe how nursing instructors teach nursing students to cope with interruptions and distractions while administering medication. The hermeneutic phenomenology approach is appropriate for discovering what nursing instructors teach their students about distraction in the classroom, simulation laboratory, and clinical setting. The study’s guiding theory was Kolb’s experiential learning theory. Nursing instructors from associate and bachelor’s degree programs from across the United States were recruited to participate in this study. Hypoglycemia can cause an array of outcomes including increased morbidity, mortality, and hospital length of stay. The literature revealed specific educational methods effective in decreasing hypoglycemia including case-based learning tutorials and unit-based lectures. Focused nursing education regarding the cause of hypoglycemia and understanding the importance of provider notification of hypoglycemia was also shown in the literature to reduce rates of hypoglycemia. This study determined whether there is a relationship between the number of direct acute care hours completed in a senior practicum course during pre-licensure nursing education and the scores of perception of Nurse Professional Competence (NPC) in newly graduated nurses between the third and sixth month of employment.
