Using Curriculum Mapping As A Tool To Align The Information Literacy And Evidence-Based Research Learning Outcomes In Nursing Curriculum, Jane Wu

This research investigated how to use curriculum mapping as a curriculum-integration tool to identify the components of information literacy (IL) and evidence-based practice (EBP) in the nursing curriculum for the future systematic incorporation of information literacy components in teaching EBP. The primary objective is to strengthen information literacy and evidence-based research competency. The ACRL information literacy framework in Higher Education, Information Literacy Competency Standards for Nursing, EBP Competencies, and the EBP research model were used to provide structure to create a map and crosswalk of information literacy and EBP student learning outcomes. Otterbein China Librarians Exchange Program Documentations and Publications

These are two official MOU ending letters from the Otterbein University Library director, Tiffany Lipstreu, to the Shanghai Jiaotong University Library director and the Southwest Jiaotong University Library through email on 2/28/2023. In addition to the letters, the email also attached a photographic montage celebrating the library's 50th-anniversary programming, specifically showcasing the achievements and experiences derived from the Exchange Program. The second letter and the photographic montage are displayed as additional files in this record. The exchange program's Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Otterbein Library and the two Chinese libraries ended on June 30, 2022.

According to the Open Doors 2014/15 Report, the number of international students in the United States increased by 10% to a record high of 974,926 students, with the largest percentage coming from Asia.

This presentation shares the results of a research study focused on providing pedagogical insights to instruction librarians and faculty members working with international Asian students. The data sources were a demographic survey for the Asian students, two semi-structured interviews conducted for the Asian students and the instructors who teach classes with Asian students, and a First-Year-Experience (FYS) class as a focus group to explore effective teaching methodologies …

Globalization has influenced educational philosophy and classroom practices around the world. The international collaboration between libraries promotes improvements that bring global perspectives into service design and development and serves as a catalyst for achieving our universities’ initiatives for internationalization. Using the results from surveys conducted within academic libraries in the U.S., the session explores how to successfully initiate and maintain cooperative international programs and how libraries can proactively serve an institutional leadership role in contributing to their campus globalization efforts.

In this memorandum to the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the library director Lois Szudy and System Librarian Jane Wu propose a trial library staff exchange between Otterbein College and Southwest Jiao Tong University in Chengdu, China. Building upon a prior successful exchange with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, this initiative seeks to deepen our global academic collaborations.

The benefits of such exchanges are manifold, encompassing cooperative teaching and research, student and faculty exchanges, summer internships, and enrichment of global learning programs. These collaborations significantly contribute to Otterbein's international reputation and capacity to attract international students.

In May 2006, Jane Wu (the System Librarian at Otterbein) and Lois Szudy (the library director at Otterbein) were invited to visit five universities in China to explore the possibility of establishing an exchange program and interlibrary cooperation between Chinese academic libraries and Otterbein College. The libraries they visited included Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Shanghai, Tongji University in Shanghai, Beijing Jiao Tong University Library in Beijing, Southwest Jiao Tong University in Chengdu, and Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xian.
