Australia Awards Global Tracer Facility

To improve understanding of alumni outcomes and experiences, the Australia Awards Global Tracer Facility (GTF) is running a survey of Australia Awards Pacific Scholarship and Australian Regional Development Scholarship alumni in July 2021. The survey will provide insight into the long-term outcomes of the AAPS and ARDS, with findings to be provided in a region-level and country-level reports. This project will help fill a gap in the knowledge of DFAT and Posts about this particular group of alumni.

Student dropouts, grade repetition and low levels of learning achievement are major challenges in education in Lao PDR. This infographic presents key results of data collected from primary schools across Lao PDR in April 2019. This data acts as a baseline before the introduction of a new primary education curriculum supported by Australia's flagship program in Lao PDR - the Basic Education Access in Lao PDR program (BEQUAL). Further data will be collected in 2021 and 2022 to determine the impact of Australia's investments in teacher development through the BEQUAL program on improving teaching and student learning.

The Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Centre is a long-term, strategic partnership between the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). While supporting education monitoring initiatives around the world, the GEM Centre has a strategic focus on improving learning in the Indo-Pacific region and provides technical support to enable monitoring of progress towards United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 by 2030.

Early Childhood Development: Practitioner Level, Australian Council For Educational Research (Acer)

It covers the case for ECD, the process of policy development and how development partners can assist government partners to expand and enhance ECD. In the context of COVID-19 and at all times, ECD is a critical priority. It is recommended that staff complete the Early Childhood Development: Foundation Level module as background information to this Practitioner level module.
