In the study, the population of educators in 21st Century Classrooms across the State of Tennessee was surveyed to determine teachers' satisfaction with 21st Century program implementation and associated changes in instructional practices. During fall 1998, six hundred of the 4,800 21st century classroom teachers were surveyed using the Technology Use Questionnaire. Three hundred two completed surveys were returned. Frequency rates and percentages were calculated for each of the 33 questions and the 8 demographic items. The questions were grouped into 7 subscales: Administration, Teacher Training, Implementation, Integration, Use on the Job, Use at Home and Instructional Change. Correlation analysis …

The purpose of this study was to obtain information about the knowledge and attitudes of students, staff, faculty, and administrators in the community colleges in the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) system about the ethical issues relating to the current policies and laws regarding the use of computers and software; to compare the knowledge and attitude of these users and to investigate any relationships that may exist between users, knowledge and attitude toward computer ethics. This study examines Channel One's influence on middle schools in Sullivan County, Tennessee. The purpose of this study was to examine the variables that are apparently affecting the incorporation of computer technology in Northeast Tennessee rural K-12 public schools. Therefore, the present study investigated the relationship between the independent variables--gender, age, and prior experience, and the dependent variables--knowledge about, attitude toward, and use of computer technology among Northeast Tennessee teachers and principals. This study utilized a survey methodology seeking responses from teachers and administrators in Sullivan, Hawkins, Johnson, Washington, Carter, and Unicoi counties. The purposes of this study were to determine the factors that influence the use of e-mail by principals, the purposes for which e-mail messages were sent and received, and the impact of experience and training in the areas of computers and e-mail. A survey was sent to a stratified random sample of 620 elementary, middle/junior high, and high school principals of the Central Appalachian Region. Respondents were asked to provide data regarding demographics, accessibility to hardware and software, computer and e-mail experience and training, uses of e-mail, and items that influence e-mail use. The purpose of this study is to reveal what technological skills are inquired about by superintendents/directors of schools in the state of Tennessee when hiring high school principals. The study further reveals perceptions that superintendents/directors of schools have for the desirability of high school principals to possess technological skills and their perceptions of how capable current high school principals are for possessing those skills. A random sample of 325 educators was selected from a population of Tennessee K-12 educators who were identified as having completed Internet training. Surveys were received from 198 educators.
