Feedback is by no means a straightforward path; rather, the feedback on the writing process involves several factors on the part of both educators and students at a university level. It is important to note that feedback can be given in different ways to each student, while uptake may vary across educational institutions. This study explored students’ perceptions on engagement strategies, uptake, and emotional responses to the feedback phenomenon. This paper aims at exploring and examining the instructional practices that can positively develop students’ 21^st-century skills. The American University in Cairo (AUC) is used in this study as a good model after conducting a pilot study to view students’ perception regarding the use of 21st century skills within their master programs.
