The purpose of this applied study was to provide recommendations to improve curriculum alignment in core leadership courses at a military academy located in the Midwest. The problem was that the core leadership courses had undergone significant format, instructor, and course director changes over the past few years, and this perceivably affected the alignment of curriculum across these courses. The rationale for this study was that it is critical to improve alignment within and across the core leadership courses to enhance the ability to meet the organizational mission and better prepare the students for their future role as military officers. …

To Improve the Academy: A Journal of Educational Development
Using an alignment framework, the authors explore faculty development initiatives in liberal arts colleges in order to understand the connection between organizational priorities and processes as connected to faculty members’ stated needs. The study draws on mixed methods data from The Initiative for Faculty Development in Liberal Arts Colleges (IFDLAC), including survey andinterview data from the 13 member institutions of the Great Lakes Colleges Association (GLCA).The authors offer future implications for faculty development practice.

The assessment of business courses and their learning goals and objectives is important for accredited business schools. However, not all business educators are necessarily knowledgeable and trained in designing appropriate learning objectives and aligning all aspects of a course around these learning objectives. This paper tries to fill this gap for business instructors by describing the concept of alignment. This paper also applies the concept of alignment to the specific learning module of capital budgeting analysis in an online MBA level corporate finance class.
