Career Pathways
It is the mission of the Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) Program at Old Dominion University (ODU) to introduce graduate students and post-doctoral fellows to the diverse roles, the responsibilities, and the rewards of an academic career. In doing so it focuses particularly on the teaching and service roles sometimes not included in doctoral training. Fundamental research skills, such as grant writing, publishing, and academic job searching, are also addressed.

Together, all of the scientists associated with the CRSF brought a total of $1.85 million in outside revenue to support forest research in Maine and the northern forest. Of that, $1.36 million (or 73%) was spent directly on the research. The Maine Economic Improvement Fund (MEIF) provides base operating funds for the CRSF. The $144K investment by MEIF this year leveraged another $1.71 million from outside sources to support the CRSF mission; thus providing a 12:1 return. The Fall Enrollment component collects student enrollment counts by level of student, enrollment status, gender and race/ethnicity. In addition, first-time student retention rates and the student-to-faculty ratio are collected. Every other year data on residence of first-time undergraduates is required and in opposite years, enrollment by student age is required to be reported.

The 12-Month Enrollment component collects unduplicated student enrollment counts and instructional activity data for an entire 12-month period. Using the instructional activity data reported, a full-time equivalent (FTE) student enrollment at the undergraduate and graduate level is estimated. Institutions with Doctor's-professional practice students will also report the FTE enrollment of those students. NCES uses the FTE enrollment to produce indicators such as expenses by function per FTE as reported in the IPEDS Data Feedback Report.

IMPACT was created in 2010, and is a large collaborative initiative on the Purdue West Lafayette campus involving multiple key partners across campus including the Office of the Provost, Center for Instructional Excellence (CIE), Information Technologies at Purdue (ITaP), Purdue Libraries, the Discovery Learning Research Center (DLRC), and Purdue Extended Campus (PEC).
