Pilot Evaluation Of Programmatic Elements For First-Generation And Historically Marginalized Doctoral Students And Their Families, Bridget A. Walsh, Sarah Mitchell, Emmanuel Kyeremeh Addai, Matthew Aguirre, Keira Hambrick

Journal of Human Sciences and Extension

While research demonstrates that family support is essential for doctoral students, research detailing institutional efforts to involve families is limited. Getting It Published: Transforming The Publishing Activities Of Stem Graduate Students Through A Collaborative Workshop Series, Brittany Wofford, Sarah Park

Transforming Libraries for Graduate Students

Writing and publishing are essential activities for young researchers, yet many newly arrived graduate students struggle to learn both foundational writing skills and the knowledge necessary to navigate an increasingly complex publishing landscape. This collaboration was especially unique as it was the first time that the library has collaborated with a school to share expertise with …

Curriculum Re-Definitions And Transformations: Spinning On New Axes Within The Technological University, David Irwin Jan 2016

Curriculum Re-Definitions And Transformations: Spinning On New Axes Within The Technological University, David Irwin

Outcomes in Higher Education

Within a technological university there is an understanding of the kind of education students should possess on graduation. A primary consideration in such an institution is the requirement to "transmit knowledge and universal values and, at the same time, to contribute to the cultural, economic and social development of the local societies that they serve and that support them". This paper explores how a curriculum can be (re)shaped in a technological university context to address this requirement. This paper develops and examines a possible pathway to progress the establishment of a portfolio of academic programmes within the context of establishing …
